This is a very meaningful video. I believe that many people have seen texts or articles or forwarded emails with the similar content. However, this story is flawed by the last statement, and the statement of Einstein saying that. Albert Einstein did not say that, and the person who stated that "Einstein" said that made Einstein looked stupid.
"Einstein" says: "Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart." or "Evil is simply the absence of God.", depending on the different versions of this similar content.
Note that "Einstein" first assumes the existence of God in order to prove the existence of God. He is saying that God exists and thus God exists. This is circular reasoning, and makes his analysis meaningless.
The story attempts to prove God's existence as follows:
- "Einstein" asserts: "Evil is simply the absence of God."
- By implication, good is the presence of God.
- Good and evil exist in the world.
- Thus God must also exist.
However, an alternate initial statement would be that "Evil is simply the absence of good." I suspect that if you asked many people what the antonym of "evil" is, the vast majority would respond "good." Very few would respond "God."
By substituting "good" for "God" or "God's love", the argument collapses.
Einstein was a careful thinker who would never have put forward the specious logic attributed to him above. As written, the argument neither disproves the existence of evil, nor proves the existence of God.

However, I'm not trying to disprove God's existence or something related to this action of disproving anything, but to give these following scriptures to the person who stated that Einstein says that:-
- "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour." (Exodus 20:16)
- "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: These are the things which defile a man: ......" (Matthew 15:19-20)
- "He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness," (Matthew 19:18)
(Ref: King James Version of the Holy Bible)
The story can be made better with these following statement rather than the above:-
- Evil is the absence of good,
- God is good, which is stated in the Bible:-
- "O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever." (1 Chronicles 16:34)
- "For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations." (Psalm 100:5)
- (Ref: King James Version of the Holy Bible).
- Thus God is good,
- Evil is the absence of good, which means evil is the absence of God.
- Thus, God exist, according to the Holy Bible.
Quoted by some:-
"There is no debate. God has to exist in some form or another. There has to be a point where science has no place and only a divine cause is logical. The real debate is what form does God take?"
"For we walk by faith, not by sight." (2 Corinthians 5:7) (Ref: King James Version of the Holy Bible)
I believe by faith.
A few words to those that thinks that these are nonsense,
don't ask me have I ever see God before,
I believe you have a brain, by faith,
I have never seen your brain before.
I believe God exist, by faith,
although I have never seen God before.
Things you can't see don't necessarily don't exist.
Heat and cold exist, we can't see them, but we can feel them.
Your brain exist, I can't see it, but I know you might be thinking that I'm stupid at making these statements.
Thus, I believe God exist, I can't see Him, but I have seen the works of God, and I can feel His existence.
And it doesn't make much sense how humans would exist if God doesn't exist.

Hey, I'm kind of lazy to go through your sources. So the bottom line is, did you come out with all the analyses yourself or did you only summarize what's in your references?
Anyway, this is all very nice, Xizhe.
Yes, you've found my blog.
There are certain points that are irrefutable, but there are also points that are questionable, at best.
There's no need for faith in predicting if anyone's got a brain. It has been proven, through advancements in science, that every human being has a brain. The wars/climate change/open burning/corruption/deforestation that you see, feel, hear and smell are just humans neglecting the use of their brains.
It is also said that God made us in his/her image. So, would it be logical for God; if he/she even exists, to have well over a million looks, impressions, hair colour, feet size, body weight or any other physical aspect that we possess?
You say that you've seen the works of God. Let's take men for example. It is also said that God made man on the sixth day. Scientists, on the other hand, believe that men evolved from primates and that we are the descendants of monkeys.
You are trying to give the impression that God actually exists, but you haven't actually given any concrete proof that he really exists...all you say is that you believe in his existence solely on faith.
So, forgive me if I have offended you thus far, but how can an atheist ever believe in something you hold onto by sheer faith alone?
Jiejie,
I summarized what was written by others, but not after the line:
(Ref: ReligiousTolerance.org & About.com).
After that, I wrote myself.
"Cynicism",
Quote 1: "There's no need for faith in predicting if anyone's got a brain. It has been proven, through advancements in science, that every human being has a brain."
My answer: You may say that "It has been proven, through advancements in science," however, before becoming a neurologist or some doctors who operates people's head, will you ever see the brain of a person? So how sure are you that having a brain isn't made up before you see your own brain?
Same thing applies to seeing God. How sure are you that God doesn't exist when you haven't seen God before? That you have to wait till you die to find out.
You can't possibly believe in something without faith when you've never seen it by your own naked eyes right?
Quote 2: "It is also said that God made us in his/her image. So, would it be logical for God; if he/she even exists, to have well over a million looks, impressions, hair colour, feet size, body weight or any other physical aspect that we possess?"
My answer: I'm not really sure how should I answer this question. However, we're not sure whether the bible is written literally or metaphorically, or maybe in both ways. Therefore, there's many explanation to this question. For an example, stated in 1 John 1:5, "...God is light..." and Revelation 21:23, "...for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.", as the Lamb refers to the followers. You may translate it in various ways, I can say that God made us in His image (which is stated in the Bible), the it means we were made by him to shine His name. Depending on how you translate the scripture, there are many ways of translating it.

Quote 3: "You say that you've seen the works of God. Let's take men for example. It is also said that God made man on the sixth day. Scientists, on the other hand, believe that men evolved from primates and that we are the descendants of monkeys."
My answer: As I said earlier, the Bible may be written literally or metaphorically. But if you insist that it's literally written, here's my answers and my questions to your question. Charles Darwin stated that humans evolved from primates such as monkeys, and he also stated the different stages of evolution. However, what we see now that exist is the latest stage: humans or so called Homo Sapiens, and one of the earliest stage: Monkeys or Apes. So, tell me where did the creatures which are in the stages of evolution in between monkeys and humans? Darwin stated that they extinct due to competitions. He stated the example: Giraffes was once short-necked, the later evolved to be long-necked due to the struggle of getting the leaves on the trees, so later all the short-necked giraffes died due to that they can't get the food from the trees. So wouldn't all the giraffes have disappeared when they were all not born with a height which they can't reach the leaves on the trees? Scientists have failed to explain that during the Proterozoic period (approx. 2500 - 542 million years ago), there was a heavy bombardment of different kind of complex life forms. Some of them stated that this is something which cannot be explained with science but the works of God. Life forms cannot suddenly exist on their own in a large number of species without taking millions of years to evolve according to the Theory of Evolution.
It isn't something wrong with the Bible but your mindset on viewing things. Why bother to look for a bone in an egg in the Bible but you are so blinded by science and yet you didn't even notice that those theories are so flawed?
Quote 4: "You are trying to give the impression that God actually exists, but you haven't actually given any concrete proof that he really exists...all you say is that you believe in his existence solely on faith."
My answer: Do you even have any concrete proof that what was stated by the scientists are true? Are all the theories valid? We all have to believe that things exist solely on faith before witnessing them ourselves. There's much things to doubt about other than religions. So I choose not to doubt but to believe. Let me ask you, do you believe in solar systems, or the universe? Milky way? Armstrong stepped on the moon? Seems pretty frictional to me if it wasn't explained in encyclopedias and stated as non-fiction. If you wanna doubt, don't just stop at religion. Do you believe that we're all programs which are pre-programmed and we're all running in computer? Do you believe that our past, present and future were all written and our lives are like a video tape which runs all over and over again with the same lines, what I'm doing now is actually what I was meant to do as I was written to do so? Do you believe that we all don't exist and we're all in someone or something's thought? My suggestion is to stop doubting too much as you might end up being the leader of a cult or become a terrorist or you might die from depression or suffers from various of mental illness.
Quote 5: "So, forgive me if I have offended you thus far, but how can an atheist ever believe in something you hold onto by sheer faith alone?"
My answer: We all believe things by sheer faith. There's nothing that can actually be completely proven to be in existence. I'm not offended and I'm not angry with your reply. But it is tiring on replying your reply.
One question for you, how sure are you that you're living in the so called "reality" now? You might be in a dream, and your dreams that you dream bout while you're asleep may be the real reality. There's no way to prove which is the real reality. Do tell me if you find out how to, I would be glad to know.
I apologize for the grammatical errors in my replies, as there's a limit to my skill in English language and to my time.
